This past week all I have been seeing on facebook is all this going on about Gay Marriage laws and how everyone has their own point of view and stuff. My opinion is if it has nothing to do with me I could care less, as long as it does not effect me directly than they can be with whoever and what ever. If a dude wants to marry a cow, let him, that is his life and is not effecting me. I just wish people would use more common sense in what they post and stuff, until next time.

ReplyDeleteSection 1. All persons born or naturalized in the United States, and subject to the jurisdiction thereof, are citizens of the United States and of the State wherein they reside. No State shall make or enforce any law which shall abridge the privileges or immunities of citizens of the United States; nor shall any State deprive any person of life, liberty, or property, without due process of law; nor deny to any person within its jurisdiction the equal protection of the laws.
So if you are born here you are a citizen and no state can deny you the rights of being a full citizen. But when they do and it is not challenged, it is not fought, it is not cared about, then it sets the precedent to deny even more rights and from even more people.
Everyone talks about how the US is the land of the free, where everyone is "equal", this is supposedly the foundation of our country, Yet when we allow the suppression of rights of one group then we go back to the days when blacks were second class citizens and to the Germany of the 30's and 40's. Nothing is more important than protecting not only MY rights but protecting YOUR rights as well.
